Your kit contains everything you need to collect your urine and saliva samples yourself, at home, on the morning of your blood test. This gives us a fuller picture of your health. The home kit applies when your tests are done in France; in the UK and Portugal all samples are collected at the lab and no kit is shipped.
What's inside
2 saliva flacons (red caps): one for T0 (on waking) and one for T30 (30 minutes later);
1 flacon for your morning urine (yellow cap);
Instructions, labels with your name and ID, and a secure transport bag.
As soon as you receive the kit
Label the two red saliva flacons "T0" and "T30" so you don't mix them up on the day.
3 days before the test
Stop taking your dietary supplements until after your test;
Check that the red saliva tubes are correctly labelled: T0 (on waking) and T30 (30 minutes later);
Keep taking your prescribed medication as usual. If in doubt, contact us or your doctor.
24 hours before the test
Avoid alcohol;
Avoid intense training (weights, long runs, high-intensity workouts);
Drink water regularly to stay hydrated.
10 hours before the test
Start fasting;
Avoid all physical exercise;
Place your T0 saliva tube on your bedside table and the urine container in your bathroom, ready for the morning.
On the day, as soon as you wake up
Saliva T0: immediately on waking, stay lying down and collect the T0 saliva. Amount: about 1 teaspoon. Close it tightly and refrigerate (fridge, not freezer). Beforehand: no drink, food, toothpaste, sport, or tobacco, and no blood or mucus in the saliva.
Set a 30-minute timer. During these 30 minutes you can move around freely, but put nothing in your mouth (no drink, food, toothpaste, sport, or tobacco).
Urine (midstream): collect your morning urine, midstream only. Amount: about 3/4 of the flacon. Wash your hands and clean the genital area with water only. Close it tightly and refrigerate. Do not collect the start or the end of the stream, only the middle.
Saliva T30: 30 minutes after T0 (when the timer ends), collect the T30 saliva. Amount: about 1 teaspoon. Close it tightly and refrigerate. Same rules as T0: nothing in the mouth beforehand, no blood or mucus.
At the laboratory
Keep your samples cool until you leave, and bring them within 2 hours of collection at most;
Bring the 3 flacons, your visit voucher (on your phone), and a valid ID;
Go straight to reception without queuing, with your voucher, ID, and flacons;
During or after your blood draw, if you feel unwell, tell the medical staff;
Take a few minutes' break after the blood draw and leave once you feel well. Avoid intense exercise that day, and consider having a sugary snack.
