How should I prepare for my blood test?

Follow the preparation instructions you receive after booking. They are tailored to the biomarkers in your panel, so they are the source of truth. The quick checklist below covers what applies to most visits.

  • Fast if asked: some markers require fasting for a set number of hours. If fasting is required, have only water during that window, and no coffee, tea, supplements, or chewing gum.

  • Drink water as usual unless told otherwise.

  • Keep taking prescribed medication unless your doctor advises otherwise. If you can, hold non-essential supplements before the test.

  • Prefer a morning appointment for hormonal and metabolic markers, avoid intense exercise the day before, and aim for a normal night of sleep.

If you could not follow every instruction, go anyway: your results can still be interpreted with that context. Lucis provides educational insights and does not replace medical advice.

Your personalised preparation checklist is in your account, on your Lucis dashboard. For more detail, see the full blood test preparation guide.
