What markers do you test in the microbiome test?

Microbiome Test Markers

Our microbiome analysis (in partnership with BIOMES) examines the composition of your gut flora across 5 key functional areas:

  • Weight management: tracking bacteria that influence metabolism and calorie absorption

  • Digestive comfort: tracking bacteria related to inflammation, intestinal wall integrity, and transit

  • Nutrition: tracking bacteria involved in digesting carbohydrates, fibers, proteins, and fats

  • Physical fitness: tracking bacteria linked to vitamin B12 and K production, immune regulation, and sleep

  • Immune system: tracking bacteria that modulate immune response and allergy resilience

Key bacterial genera measured

The analysis measures key bacterial genera including Akkermansia, Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Faecalibacterium, Bacteroides, Ruminococcus, and Christensenella, as well as potentially unbalancing strains such as Escherichia and Citrobacter.

Taxonomic coverage and scoring

It covers all taxonomic levels (phylum, genus, species) and generates an overall gut flora balance score out of 100.
