Do I need to stop my supplements before my blood test, and what happens if I forget?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

To ensure reliable results, we recommend stopping all dietary supplements 3 days before your blood test.

Stop 72 hours (3 days) before:

  • Vitamins (for example: B12, D, C);

  • Minerals (for example: magnesium, zinc, iron);

  • Omega-3 and fish oil supplements;

  • Adaptogens (for example: ashwagandha, rhodiola);

  • Probiotics, powdered superfoods, etc.

You may continue:

  • Medications prescribed by your doctor (for example: thyroid, blood pressure, etc.);

  • Ongoing or long-term medical treatments.

What if I forgot to stop?

No worries.
Some markers (such as vitamin B12) may be temporarily elevated, but our medical team takes this into account when interpreting your results.
